Letting Go With Art

6:30 – 8:30 April 26, 2019

Join local artist April Lacheur for a guided art experience.  In this workshop you will be encouraged to focus on ‘letting go’ of something that is not serving you positively in your life and use paint to work through this process.  You will be guided to ‘let loose’ and create an abstract background for your painting.  The fortune is not in the outcome of this painting but in the process itself!  Later we will cover part of our ‘letting go’ background with something that symbolizes what is truly important to us, what we want to focus on.  This might be in the form of words, collage, photos or painting.  Each participant’s art piece will be totally different and unique.  This is an opportunity to let our creativity flow and to use art to heal.  Please bring with you a sketchbook, journal or notebook as there will be some writing involved.  All art supplies are included and you will go home with a painting you may choose to hang on your wall (or not…and that’s ok too!).

Just imagine, you start with fluffy carded wool and by adding only some soap and warm water you are able to create flat pieces of felt fabric and various 3D shapes.  Wet felting is considered the most traditional and oldest felting method.  This method allows masters to create any complex felting object, such as bags, slippers, mittens and clothes.  These projects are very practical and make the perfect gift, so why not sign up for all 3?   All materials provided.  Class space is limited, so be sure to sign up soon !
