Linda Nelson is a self-taught Pitt Meadows artist who has honed her artistic skills through participation in various local art workshops and classes. She is an active member of the Garibaldi Art Club and will be participating in this year’s Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Art Studio Tour (STOP#13) during the Mother’s Day Weekend as Little Cricket’s Guest Artist.
Although originally focusing on watercolours, she now works with acrylics and pastels. Her style, generally realistic, ranges from slightly impressionistic to a touch on the graphic side, depending on the medium.
Linda enjoys painting the full beauty and variety of landscapes and natural settings of BC. Recently, she has been increasingly drawn to the dramatic effects provided by light and shadows and water reflections.
“I appreciate the hidden treasure of small places in nature, and roadway micro-scenes of modest plants and flowers set amidst logs, rocks and trails, featuring ‘beauty on a small scale’.”
Little Cricket features Linda’s wonderful art cards of local Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows scenes throughout the year.
